The Eurometropolis Agency welcomes a new colleague!
It's back to work at the Eurometropolis Agency! And with a new start comes new faces. We are delighted to welcome Carole Carrière as Head of Finance, Administration and Human Resources. Welcome!
Hello Carole! To begin with, could you introduce yourself and tell us a little more about your background?
After completing a Master's degree in public law, I continued my studies in political science in Lille, passed the civil service exam and have always been a Chief Executive Officer in small and medium-sized municipalities in Pas-de-Calais, Charente and then in the North. It was a conscious choice to be as close as possible to elected officials, associations, citizens and my colleagues. My skills are multidisciplinary, particularly in law, finance, general administration and human resources.
What will your responsibilities be and what are you most looking forward to in this position?
My responsibilities will be those traditionally associated with an administration, finance and human resources manager, with a desire to make all my knowledge and skills available to everyone. My expectations for the position are simple: to be of assistance to an existing team that is dynamic and highly motivated.
What inspires you about cross-border cooperation?
For me, cross-border cooperation is a way of life that is shared on a daily basis, it is about wonderful human encounters. I have been living in a town on the Belgian border for almost 25 years and regularly appreciate the cultural contributions, the shared desire to preserve the environment, but also the festive atmosphere and rich gastronomy. For me, cross-border cooperation is above all about mutual understanding – it's about promoting high-quality dialogue and relevant discussions in order to be a source of proposals through a work programme that makes life easier for the inhabitants of the Eurometropolis.
On a more personal note, what are your passions?
Spending time with family and friends, enjoying cultural and festive events together, all around a good table!
