A look back at the Borders Forum
On 3 December, the Eurometropole team was in Paris for the Borders Forum organised by the Mission Opérationnelle Transfrontalière (MOT). This year's theme: "What if we dared a cross-border deal?".
The aim of the day was to bring together representatives of cross-border territories to exchange views before questioning French and European political leaders on the importance of the issues at stake in cross-border living areas, to question the issues of solidarity, sovereignty and reciprocity and, above all, to put forward proposals for resolving cross-border 'blockages'.
On this occasion, Eurométropole co-organised two workshops: Séverine Flahault on cross-border public services, with the Département du Nord, the Métropole Européenne de Lille and the Région Hauts de France, and Catherine Christiaens on water, with Leon Dhaene of the International Scheldt Commission and the GIS Littoral-Basque.
