The Presidency
The Executive Management Committee is made up of the President, Martine Aubry, and the three Vice-Presidents: Stefaan De Clerck, burgomaster of Courtrai and Minister of Justice in Belgium, Rudy Demotte, Minister and President of the Region of Wallonia and Gilles Pargneaux, Vice-President of Metropolitan Lille and a Member of the European Parliament. Members of the Board, these individuals are elected by the Eurometropolis Assembly for one year. The Executive Management Committee respects the principle of double parity. This is a revolving presidency. The presidency alternates between a French representative and a Belgian representative and for the latter, between a Dutch speaker and a French speaker. The Executive Management Committee applies the decisions taken by the Assembly and the Board.
