The Presidency

The Executive Management Committee is made up of the President, Vincent Van Quickenborne, Mayor of Courtrai, and the three Vice-Presidents: Damien Castelain, President of Lille Métropole, Rudy Demotte, Mayor of Tournai and Martine Aubry, Mayor of Lille.

Members of the Board, these individuals are elected by the Eurometropolis Assembly for one year.

The Executive Management Committee respects the principle of double parity. This is a revolving presidency. The presidency alternates between a French representative and a Belgian representative and for the latter, between a Dutch speaker and a French speaker. The Executive Management Committee applies the decisions taken by the Assembly and the Board.

Vincent Van Quickenborne

Vincent Van Quickenborne

Eurometropolis President

Rudy Demotte

The Eurometropolis will only ensure its continued existence through concrete projects. (…). There are many subjects on which we've already been able to work … The tax system, train tickets, mail … the Eurometropolis must become a reality for its inhabitants...

Rudy Demotte

Vice-pesident of the Eurometropolis

Martine Aubry

Europe is watching us. Building Europe starting from its territories is a great ambition which we share (…) I'd like to tell the Eurometropolis citizens: we're working together for you. We are already operational...

Martine Aubry

Vice-president of the Eurometropolis

Damien Castelain

The Eurometropolis is synonymous with more than 2 million inhabitants, talent, creativity and the ambition to create a region that matters for Europe and its inhabitants. The Eurometropolis is an opportunity, an incentive to rethink our public policies in order to better meet the needs of the inhabitants and the local actors in terms of employment, economic development, mobility and living environment.

Damien Castelain
