Within the context of the second edition of TERMM (The Euro Regional Music Meeting), which was granted the Eurometropolis label and built on the success of the first edition of 2009, a summarising report of the various meetings of the different actors in the field of contemporary music, organised in June 2012, has recently been published.
Cultural actors of the Eurometropolis and beyond actively contributed to this event, at which the present-day issues of the cultural and territorial public policies were discussed within the scope of the cross-border network TERMM #2. The meetings of June 2012 at Roubaix enabled the different actors to share experiences, stories and theoretical views on the same theme: contemporary music in the context of the future Cultural Policy of the European Union for 2014-2020. The 3rd edition will be organised in Kortrijk (Belgium) in 2013. One year later Picardie will host the 4th edition.
The summarising report of the meetings gives a clear overview of the topics discussed during the seven TERMM#2 workshops and proposes a reflective strategy for the main themes : 1) reality in the field, 2) values defended and promotes, 3) practices: methods and tools to put the values in practice.
The report also discusses the need for a permanent exchange of ideas and opinions on the underlying sense and values that cultural actions may convey in a given region.
