Do you remember? In 2015 we already mentioned MyMachine, an original, collaborative project offering children from the Eurometropolitan region the opportunity to devise dream machines... and to have them actually constructed by higher education students.
The initiative, first implemented in Flanders, has in the meantime crossed the border, first to France (Tourcoing) and then to Wallonia (Tournai and Tourbes). It was an instant success, as it caused different levels of the educational system to work together on the same federative and creative project.
We will continue the momentum in 2017! Pupils of Kain and Leuze have already given their imagination free reign and have made a selection. In the months to come, a robot goalkeeper and a multifunctional robot cat for recess will be developed. The secondary school students of the Athénée provincial of Leuze-en-Hainaut (electromechanics and automatic mechanics) and higher education students of the Haute Ecole Provinciale de Hainaut-Condorcet Tournai (technical engineering) will be responsible for the actual construction of the robots.
Undoubtedly other editions of this project, which focuses on inventiveness and cooperation, will follow in the years to come. To be continued!
