The European Union turns sixty!

The 60th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome, the starting point of the European unification process, will be commemorated from 18 to 25 March on the occasion of the sixth edition of the Etats Généraux de l’Europe (States-General of Europe). This year, several events will take place throughout Europe, but the biggest commemorative event, which has been granted the Eurometropolis label, will be organised in Lille.

Within this scope, Le Mouvement Européen-France organises discussions, conferences and sports competitions. Approximately 3000 people are expected to come to Lille in the course of that week to celebrate the treaty's anniversary and reflect on the European Union’s future.
