Previously known as the “Tour de Wallonie Picarde", the 72th Eurometropolis Tour taking riders through France and Belgium will be on the road from Thursday 27 September to Sunday 30 September 2012.

The first stage will be from La Louvière to Menin.
The next day will see the riders starting in Antoing and heading over to Poperinge.
The third stage will be from Péruwelz to Ichtegem.
Now a tradition, the last stage will take the riders from Mons up to Tournai.

The oldest cycling stage race in Belgium, the Eurometropolis Tour has over the years become a highlight in the international racing calendar, with the best Pro Tour teams each year jostling to get invited. The event is popular with top-class pelotons, offering relatively short stages. These take the riders through the rolling countryside of Western Hainaut (Wallonie Picarde), West Flanders and the North of France.

The Eurometropolis Tour is above all the domain of sprinters, with none other than Robbie McEwen, the top Australian sprinter and winner of twelve Tour de France stages, winning last year’s race.
