The Lille-Kortrijk-Tournai Eurometropolis salutes the initiative taken by the town of Roncq on 28 June, when town councillors unanimously decided to name the stretch of the RD 191 on Roncq territory the "Boulevard de l’Eurométropole". "Our town is always ready to affirm its membership of the Eurometropolis. It also wants to pioneer ways of promoting identification with the Eurometropolis" said Roncq's mayor, Vincent Ledoux. The boulevard will start at the Europe roundabout and end at the International Transport Centre. The Eurometropolis Agency is encouraging all 146 other communes within the cross-border territory to adopt a similar approach, giving a street, a square or an avenue a name connected with the Eurometropolis - not just to promote the largest European Grouping for Territorial Cooperation, but also to demonstrate their pride in belonging to such a dynamic and innovative region
