Tourist Tips in Western Flanders

 

« Westhoek Voordeelpass »

 

Those who want to spend the night at a hotel or a B&B in Ypres or one of the surrounding towns can make use of the « Westhoek Voordeelpass ». This pass is free of charge and offers discounts in some thirty museums, sites and tourist attractions in the region (for a total amount of €70 per person).  

 

The pass is only distributed by the hotels and B&Bs at which a reservation is made.  

 

The Westhoek consists of 18 municipalities, 8 of which are situated on the territory of the Eurometropolis:  De Panne, Koksijde, Nieuwpoort, Koekelaere, Diksmuide, Veurne, Kortemark, Alveringem, Lo-Reninge, Houthulst, Langemark Poelkapelle, Vleteren, Poperinge, Ieper, Zonnebeke, Heuvelland, Wervik, Mesen.

Price of the pass:  

 

Free of charge – When making a reservation at a hotel or a Bed & Breakfast.  

 

Benefits:  

 

Approx. thirty discount vouchers, with a total value of €70 per person.  

Reduced admission price in the following museums:  In Flanders Fields Museum, the Yser Tower, Tobacco Museum. 

The « Westhoek Voordeel pass » is free of charge and valid from your arrival in the Westhoek until the end of the month of January of the following year.

 


In Flanders Fields Museum

 

The In Flanders Fields museum presents the history of World War I along the front line in Western Flanders through modern and interactive techniques.

 

The SNCB/NMBS is offering a special price from 4 euros on, which includes admission for the In Flanders Fields musuem and a return trip from the belgian train station of your choice. All the information can be found on the SNCB/NMBS website.

Museums are free on the first Sunday of the month in Kortrijk.
